Native Guide Training

Training for a selected group of native guides was possible thanks to the support of Fedexpor (Ecuadorian Chamber of Exporters) and Al-Invest Regional Aid Programme.

Al-Invest is an economic co-operation programme that aims to support the internationalisation of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Latin America, in collaboration with their European partners in order to contribute to reinforcing social cohesion in the region.

During four months training, among the main topics covered were: Customer service, basic English, personal appearance, folklore, group management, natural and cultural heritage, geography and archeology.

Napo Wildlife Center supporting environmental journalism

Napo Wildlife Center Supporting environmental journalism

The Biodiversity Reporting Award is an initiative to encourage journalists to become involved in raising awareness among the population of environmental topics, including those related to global warming and its effects on biodiversity.

This annual award is co-organized by Conservation International, the International Center for Journalists and the International Federation of Environmental Journalists.
Napo Wildlife Center supports this initiative as part of its environmental commitment as well as recognizing journalists and media outlets concerned with the conservation of the Ecuadorian natural heritage. Mr. Jaime Plaza from “El Comercio” newspaper in Quito was one of the winners with his article “Galapagos is a natural paradise”. He will be visiting Napo Wildlife Center.
