Socio Bosque

Socio Bosque

The purpose of the program “Socio Bosque” “Forest Partner” is to avoid deforestation and to protect its ecological, economical and cultural value; as well as to improve the living conditions of rural communities.

The program provides economical incentives to indigenous communities that voluntarily compromise their efforts to the conservation and protection of its natural forest.

Socio Bosque

The Kichwa Añangu Community decided to apply to this program, and after fulfilling all the requirements; on June 25, the Environment Ministry and the Community signed this agreement for a period of 20 years for a territory of twenty thousand hectares of primary forest.
